Gulnara Khalilova

Gulnara Khalilova was born in Baku.
She studied at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical Institute (1989-1994).
After graduation, she began teaching. In parallel, she worked as a fashion designer. Since 2002, she has been performing at exhibitions and scientific conferences of the Republic and International scale with reports explaining her creative works and their essence. Since 2008, she has been working as a fashion designer-artist at the Azerbaijan State Musical Comedy Theater. As a dissertation student at the Institute of Architecture and Art of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, she conducted research on national clothing traditions in modern folklore groups (2009-2012). She has a PhD in art history (2013). She is the head of the Azerbaijan National Clothing Center. She is engaged in pedagogical activities, worked at the Academy of Arts (2014–2015). Since 2017, she has been a senior lecturer at Khazar University.
She was awarded 1st place in the "Most Beautiful Banquet Dress" nomination at the "Beauty of the World 2010" International Beauty Contest (2010, China). She was awarded the "Progress" medal (2020).
