Iftikhar Piriyev

Iftikhar Piriyev was born in the Garachop district of Georgia (Duzayram village, Sagarejo region).

He studied at the Drama and Cinema Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1977-1981).

For some time he worked as an actor at the Azerbaijan Academic National Drama Theater (1981-1988). He was the host of the "Ozan" folklore program on television. In 1990, he founded the Azerbaijan National Dastan Theater, worked as its director and artistic director. He headed the "Dastan" tourism company. He was the head of the restoration of the Tbilisi State Azerbaijan Drama Theater (1998-2000), the director of the Irevan State Azerbaijan Drama Theater (2000-2025). He is the author of poems and plays.
