Isa Ismayilzadeh was born in the Garayazi (now Gardabani) region of Georgia.
He studied at the Faculty of Philology of Azerbaijan State University (1958-1963).
He worked as a teacher at a secondary school in Gardabani (1963-1964), an editor at the Azerbaijan State Television and Radio Broadcasting Committee, a scientific editor at the Main Editorial Office of the Azerbaijan Soviet Encyclopedia (1966-1968), a literary worker, department head, deputy editor-in-chief at the editorial office of the “Literature and Art” newspaper, department head at the editorial office of the “Ulduz” magazine (1968-1981), and deputy editor-in-chief at the editorial office of the “Azerbaijan” magazine (1981-1997). At the same time, he worked as the head of the music texts department at the main editorial office of the Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (since 1994).
He began his literary career as a student with his first poem, published in the almanac "April Flowers" (1959) and the newspaper "Azerbaijani Youth" (1961). His books have been published. His poems and poems have been translated into the languages of the peoples of the former USSR, as well as into a number of foreign languages.
Isa Ismayilzadeh died in 1997.
