Khanim Gafarova was born in the village of Kurdakhani, Baku.
She studied at the Musical Comedy Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1987-1992).
She began her artistic activity at an early age, and was a laureate of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd All-Union Festivals of Folk Creativity. For a while, she worked at the Lutfi Mammadbeyov People's Theater. While still in her second year of the institute, she began working at the Criticism-Propaganda Theater. In 1996, she was invited to the Azerbaijan State Musical Comedy Theater. She was awarded the “Nasiba Zeynalova Prize in the Theater Field” (1997). In addition to her theatrical activities, she was also engaged in singing.
Honored Artist (2003) Khanim Gafarova died in 2014 and was buried in the Kurdakhani cemetery.
