Leyla Aliyeva was born in Moscow.

She studied at the European Business School (2000) and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MSIRI) at the master's level (2006-2008).

Since 2007, she has been the head of the Russian representation of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Since 2007, she has been the founder and editor-in-chief of the "Baku" magazine published in Moscow. Since 2008, she has been the chief coordinator of the Youth Forum of the Organization of the Islamic Conference. In 2009, she was elected chairman of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia (AMOR). She is the founder and head of the IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Protection) Public Union (2011). Since 2011, she has been the vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. She was awarded the "Progress" medal (2011). She was awarded the title of Goodwill Ambassador of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (2015). He was the executive producer of the British-produced film "Ali and Nino" (2015, directed by Asif Kapadia). He was awarded the "Teraggi" (Progress) medal (2011).
