Maharram Hashimov was born in Baku.
He studied at the Moscow State Institute of Theater Arts named after A. Lunacharsky (1936, GITIS).
He was a director, chief director (1928, 1944), and director of the Azerbaijan Young Spectator Theater, chief director and director of the Azerbaijan State Russian Drama Theater (1948-1951, 1956-1960, 1966), director of the Azerbaijan Opera and Ballet Theater (1951-1956), and director of the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio (1960-1965). At the same time, he was the head of the Department of Artistic Affairs.
He was engaged in pedagogical activities at the Azerbaijan State Theater Institute for many years.
He directed numerous performances.
Honored Artist (1940), People's Artist (1954), laureate of the USSR and Azerbaijan State Prizes (1961, 1968) Maharram Hashimov died in 1969 and was buried in the Second Alley of Honor.
