Mahira Jafarova was born in Sumgayit.

She studied at the Piano Department of the Soltan Hajibeyov Secondary Specialized Music School (1982-1986), the Piano Department of the Uzeyir Hajibeyov Academy of Music (1986-1991), and the Television Directing Department of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (1991-1996).

In 1998, she worked as an assistant director and later as a director at the “Mir” Interstate Television and Radio Company. Here she directed the films “Friends of Azerbaijani Culture Foundation”, “Talysh Ethno”, “Scalpel and Pen”, “Rasim Ojagov’s 11 Epithets”, “Writer”, “Live Classic”, “Face Without Makeup”, “Love and Music”, “Ceyhun Music”, “In the World of Flowers”, “Mubariz”, etc. She was the director of the programs “Our Museum” and “Caz Time” on “Lider” television (2002-2004). For some time, he worked as a director in the Music editorial office of Azerbaijan Television (2007-2015) and on Public Television (2015-2019). He was the author and director of the programs “Jazz Hour” and “Soundtracks” on Public Television.

He was engaged in pedagogical activities at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (2003-2012).

Currently, he is an employee of Azerbaijan Television and the director of the program “Soundtrack” broadcast on Culture TV.
