Mammadsafa Gasimov (Mammadsafa Gahramanov / Mammad Safa) was born in Davachi (now Shabran).

He studied at the Baku Cultural and Educational Technical School as a director of an amateur theater collective (1977-1980), and at the Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1980-1984).

After graduating from the technical school, he worked at the Shabran Culture House by appointment. Since 1985, he has continued his activities at the Teaching Theater under Vagif Ibrahimoglu. Since 1989, he has been working at the Yugh Theater.

Since 1988, he has been a teacher at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, an associate professor since 2002, and a professor since 2018. He teaches acting and is the head of the Stage Speech Department.

He was awarded the “Golden Dervish” award (2004), the “Artist” medal established by the Union of Theater Figures of Azerbaijan (2021), the “Altın Güneş Ödülleri” award (2023), the “Advanced Educator of the Republic of Azerbaijan” badge established by the Ministry of Science and Education (2023).

The book “Theater... Cinema... Actor” was published (2024).
