Marziya Davudova (Marziya Dautova) was born in the village of Sarevo, Astrakhan. She is a Tatar by nationality.
She studied at the Russian-Tatar schools "Darultahsil" (1908–1912), "Galiya" (1912–1915) and "Iqbal" (1915–1918).
After graduating from school, she worked as a teacher for a while. She began her stage activities in a drama club. She played the role of Afifa in the play "First Theater" prepared by teachers at the Iqbal school in Astrakhan (1917). In 1920, she came to Baku and joined the troupe of the United State Theater (National Drama Theater). She worked at the Tbilisi-Azerbaijan Theater (1927-1928), the Baku-Turkish Workers Theater (1930-1931). For a while, she headed the Azerbaijan Theater Society (1956-1961). She was the first performer of female roles in Jafar Jabbarli's plays.
Honored Artist (1933), People's Artist (1936), People's Artist of the USSR (1949), laureate of the USSR State Prize (1948), Marziya Davudova died in 1962 and was buried in the Alley of Honor.
Actress Marziya Davudova was the wife of actor and director Abbas Mirza Sharifzadeh and actor Ulvi Rajab.
Actress Marziya Davudova is the mother of actress Firangiz Sharifova.
