Mehriban Alakbarzadeh

Mehriban Alakbarzadeh was born in Ganja.

She studied at the Directing Department of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1983-1988, Mehdi Mammadov's course).

After graduating from secondary school, she worked as an assistant director at the Sumgayit State Drama Theater (1982-1983). She was assigned to the Lankaran State Drama Theater (1988-1990). She worked as an assistant director at the Academic National Drama Theater (1991), production director (1994), director and author at Azerbaijan Television (1994-1999), artistic director at Space Television (1999), head of the Author's Programs Department (2001-2007), head of the Enlightenment Studio at Azerbaijan Television (2007-2008), research worker, senior research worker at the Department of New History of ANAS (2007), research worker at the Institute of History, chief director of the Azerbaijan State Yugh Theater (2017-2022), chief director of the Azerbaijan State Young Spectator Theater (2022-2023), artistic director of the Academic National Drama Theater (2023-2026). 

In 2026, she was the artistic director of Azerbaijan Television.

Her book "A Day of History or the History of a Day" was published (2005). 

She is the laureate of the Golden Lamp (2006), East-West (2007), Humay (1997, 2000, 2011), Golden Dervish, Yusif Mammadaliyev (2003), State Prize (2024). Honored Artist of Nakhchivan (2003), Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan (2013).
