Nazir Aliyev was born in the Port-Ilich settlement of Lankaran (now the city of Liman).
He studied at the Drama and Film Acting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1964-1968, Rza Tahmasib's course).
He began working at the Sumgayit State Drama Theater by appointment (1968-1970). Later, he worked at the Nakhchivan State Musical Drama Theater (1970-1975), the Lankaran State Drama Theater (1975-1988), and the Azerbaijan State Academic Drama Theater (1988-1997).
After leaving the theater, he left art and lived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, until the end of his life.
Honored Artist (1982) Nazir Aliyev died in Dubai in 1997 and was buried in his birthplace, Lankaran.
Actor Nazir Aliyev is the husband of actress Munavvar Aliyeva (II).
