Rafael Asadov

Rafael Asadov was born in Masalli.
He studied at the Azerbaijan State Art School named after Azim Azimzade (1961-1966), and the Faculty of Architecture of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Civil Engineers (1969-1977).
He began his career on Azerbaijani television in 1968. He was the chief artist of television for more than 40 years. He worked as the chief artist of Space television (2012–2015). Since 1968, he has prepared hundreds of illustrations for examples of Azerbaijani and World literature in the publishing houses “Yazichi”, “Ganjlik”, “Maaraf” and other publishing houses, as well as in the magazines “Pioner”, “Ulduz”. He is a regular participant in exhibitions.
Since 2017, he has been working as a teacher at the Department of Fine Arts of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art.
He was awarded the Humay National Prize (1997). He is an Honored Worker of Culture (2001).
