Rafig Huseynov was born in Hajigabul district.
He studied at the Drama and Film Actor Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1968).
He worked as an actor at the Sumgayit State Drama Theater and as a teacher at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts. He worked for a long time at the Young Spectators Theater (1972-2018). He was the author and director of several performances.
