Ramiz Heydar (Ramiz Mammadov) was born in Baku.
He studied at the Moscow Literary Institute (1957).
He was the editor of the literary and drama program department of the State Television and Radio Committee. He was a research worker at the Institute of Architecture and Art of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, a candidate of art criticism, and an associate professor at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art. He is the author of scientific works on various problems of Azerbaijani cinema. At the age of 16, his first poem was published in the magazine "Pioneer". He is the author of about 40 books of poems and poems. About 30 of his dramas were staged in the theaters of Baku, Agdam, Nakhchivan and Sumgayit, as well as in Moscow, and about 500 songs were composed to his poems.
Honored Artist Ramiz Heydar died in 2010.
