Sabir Ahmadli (Sabir Ahmadov) was born in Jabrayil.
He studied at the Faculty of Philology of Azerbaijan State University (1946-1951).
He worked as a teacher in the Jabrayil district center (1951-1954), director of a secondary school in the village of Shukurbayli (1955-1956), literary worker in the editorial office of the newspaper "Literature and Art", head of the prose department (1956-1993), editor-in-chief (1993-1996).
He began his literary activity in 1951 with the story "Postalion" published in the magazine "Pioner". He regularly appeared in the periodical press with his fiction and journalistic articles. He is the author of numerous novels and short stories.
Honored Artist (1984), People's Writer (1992) Sabir Ahmadli died in 2009.
