Salman Gambarov

Salman Gambarov was born in Baku.

He studied at the Bulbul Secondary Specialized Music School and the Azerbaijan State Conservatory in the fields of musicology and composition (1978-1983, 1986-1990). He founded the “Bakustic Jazz” music group (1996). He participated in many international jazz festivals and was awarded prizes. Symphony (1990); Dilogy for string quartet (1991); “Buta” instrumental fantasy for violin and piano (1992); “East or West” suite for voice, drums and piano (2000); Music for theater performances: “Family weekend” (1993), “Othello” (1998); Music for the silent feature film “Latif” (2001) are some of his works. Honored Artist (2006), People's Artist (2018).

Composer Salman Gambarov is the father of director Teymur Gambarov.
