Sardar Farajov (Sardar Faraj) was born in Baku.
He studied at the Azerbaijan State Conservatory (1984, Khayyam Mirzazadeh's class).
His works include operettas, operas, rock operas, musical comedies, music for theater performances, pieces for violin and piano, oratorios, symphonic suites, instrumental works, and odes.
He is currently the secretary of the Composers' Union, director of the Uzeyir Hajibeyov House Museum.
Honored Artist (2007), People's Artist (2019).
