Tofig Musayev was born in West Azerbaijan.

He studied at the Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute, specializing in Radiocommunications and Radio Junction.

He worked as a radio junction and telephone master (1981-1982) and an electrician (1985-1988) at the Azerbaijan Pipe Rolling Plant. Since 1989, he has been working at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio, and has served as an engineer in the sound department of the film studio (1990-1991). He has worked as a commercial director of the “EKOL” and “MIAN-INVEST” companies in Moscow (1997-2005).

He was the line producer of the series “Born in the USSR” (2007, Russia) by foreign film producers. 

He is the founder and director of the “Sinag Film” production center. He is the producer of many films.

Producer Tofig Musayev is the brother of producer Ilgar Musayev.
