Tofig Taghizadeh was born in Baku.
In 1938, he entered the Energy Faculty of the Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry. In his third year, he volunteered to go to war. In late 1942, he was wounded near Rostov and returned. After studying at the Film Directing Faculty of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (1946-1953, the workshop of Sergey Yutkevich and Lev Kuleshov), he began working at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio. For some time, he was the artistic director of the film actor theater studio operating under the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio. He also operated a private studio called “TMT”.
Honored Art Worker of Chechnya (1964), Honored Art Worker (1960), People's Artist (1976) Tofig Taghizadeh died in 1998.
