Vera Shirye was born in Baku.

She studied at the studio of the Azerbaijan State Russian Drama Theater (1937).

She began her stage career in 1933 at the Baku Workers' Theater. Since 1938, she has been an actress of the Azerbaijan State Russian Drama Theater. She was also known as a master of artistic recitation.

People's Artist (1961), laureate of the Order of "Independence" (2000) Vera Shirye died in 2003 and was buried in the Alley of Honor.
