Vladimir Konyagin was born in Baku.

Since 1936, he worked at the "Azerbaijanfilm" film studio, first as an assistant cameraman, then as a cameraman (1955–1990). During World War II, while serving in the military in the territory of South Azerbaijan, he was gassed in a tank. Several soldiers with him died. He regained consciousness during the burial of the soldiers and continued his service in the army.

Honored Worker of Culture (1976), laureate of the State Prize of Azerbaijan (1988), Vladimir Konyagin died in 2002.
