Yagub Alioghlu (Yagub Mammadov) was born in the village of Soltanli, Jabrayil region.
He studied at the Cultural and Educational Technical School (now the Humanitarian College under the ADMİU), the Theater Studies Department of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts (1986).
He worked as an editor and editor-in-chief at the Union of Theater Workers (1986-1997), the editorial office of Literary Drama Programs of Azerbaijan Television, and the Azerbaijantelefilm Creative Union (2006-2019).
He has been published in the press since 1974. He is the author of more than 1,000 articles of various forms and topics, and more than 10 books.
Yagub Alioghlu, a laureate of the “Golden Pen” and “Golden Dervish” awards, died in 2024.
