Yuri Baliyev was born in the village of Izberg, Dagestan.
He studied at the acting department of the Yaroslav Theater School.
Since 1975, he has worked at the Azerbaijan State Russian Drama Theater. He played in several performances at the “Ibrus” Theater.
He starred in the film “Tehran-43” (1980, directors Alexander Alov, Vladimir Naumov / Russia, France, Switzerland) by foreign film producers as an Iranian terrorist, in the film “The Tale of Yigit Khochbar” (1986, directors Ashab Abakarov, Mikhail Ordovsky / Russia) as an ambassador, in the short film “Salandar” (1994, director Rafi Pitts / France, Russia) as an officer, and in the TV series “Drongo” (2002, director Zinoviy Roizman / Russia) as a teacher.
People's Artist Yuri Baliyev died in 2018 and was buried in the II Alley of Honor.
Actor Yuri Baliyev was the husband of actress Nataliya Baliyeva.
