Zakir Aghayev

Zakir Aghayev was born in Baku.

He studied at the ballet master's department of the Russian State Academy of Theater Arts (1994).

He began his career as a dancer in the Azerbaijan State Song and Dance Ensemble (1973). He taught "World Folk Dances" and "Azerbaijani Dances" at the Baku Choreographic School (1990-2000). He is a graduate of the XII World Festival of Students and Youth (1985, Moscow). He is the author of theoretical and practical research works on the basics of choreography. Since 1997, he has been working as the acting chief ballet master at the Azerbaijan State Musical Comedy Theater.

He is an Honored Artist (2017).
