Zaur Aliyev was born in Baku.

He studied at the Directing Faculty of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (2011-2015).

He underwent pantomime and plastic training for the acting troupe at the “Baku Folklore Theater” under the Baku City Department of Culture (2012-2013). He performed roles in performances on the stages of the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater (2013-2015), the Azerbaijan State Theater for Young Spectators (2014-2015), and the State Theater of Culture Center. He directed the performances “Sureya” (2015) at the “Yug” Theater, and “The Bremen Town Musicians and Pen” (2018) at the Musical Theater. He prepared a pantomime performance called “Silence” with young people with speech disabilities at the Azerbaijan Film Academy. His play "44" won 2nd place at the "4.4 Short Plays Festival" (2021), and his video clip "Işıq adam" was awarded the "Best Video" award by the Ministry of Culture (2021).

He has been an actor at the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater since 2013. He participates in the preparation of performances as a director and assistant director at the Academic Musical Theater.
