Ziya Agha (Ziya Aghayev) was born in the village of Muradbeyli, Agdam.
He studied at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (2009-2015), the Faculty of Drama Theater and Film Actor of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art (2015-2020).
He worked as an actor at the Sada Educational Theater, the laboratory at the Yugh Theater (2016), the “M-Theater” (since 2016), the “Human” Theater (2017), the Academic National Drama Theater, and the Yugh Theater (since 2019). He played one of the main roles in the play “Land of Ice” by the Georgian director Gocha at the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. He played the role of a spy in the play “Chippolino” on the stage of the Academic National Drama Theater. On the stage of the Sada Educational Theater, he performed the roles of a fox ("Tig-Tig khanum"), an author ("Jasmine Tree"), Sganarel ("Forced Doctor"), and Doctor Lalbyuz ("The Mad Meeting"). He worked as the director of the special programs and special projects department of Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting CJSC (2020), chief director (2020-2022). He was selected as the winner of the "Best Actor" nomination for his performance in the play "The Legend of Othello" at the "GITIS-Master Class" festival (2019, Moscow / Russia).
